Jack Ladd

Member of the Board of Directors

Jack Ladd brings to Lightbridge a broad combination of business, energy, and legal experience. Mr. Ladd is dean of the School of Business at the University of Texas of the Permian Basin (UTPB), one of the only business schools in the world to recognize the significance of energy issues by offering courses on energy marketing and management. Under Ladd, the School of Business began offering a nuclear engineering concentration in 2009. Ladd also helped establish the UTPB Alliance for Innovative Energy Technology Commercialization, which works to develop and commercialize profitable alternative energy resources. From 2004 to 2007, he was the director of UTPB’s John Ben Shepperd Public Leadership institute.

In 2002, the governor of Texas named Ladd to the influential State Securities Board, which regulates the securities industry and educates investors; in 2005 Ladd was named chairman and served in that capacity until 2008. He had previously served as a member of the state’s Task Force on Public Education, appointed by then-Governor George W. Bush. Ladd has advised both U.S. senators from Texas on energy-related issues.

One of the top lawyers in Texas with an extensive background in handling energy transactions, Ladd has been with Lightbridge since 2006 and serves as chair of the Audit Committee. Ladd’s connections to the energy industry run deep: he is an independent director of Mexco Energy Corporation, a publicly owned oil and gas company; Renovar Energy Corporation, a company focused on developing renewable energy sources; MAP, Inc., a mineral acquisition and development company; and Dawson Geophysical Company, a seismic acquisition and data processing firm. Ladd earned his J.D. and B.B.A. degrees from the University of Texas at Austin.
