Dr. Charles W. Pryor, Jr.

Dr. Charles Pryor has a long résumé of executive positions at leading nuclear power companies and has many years of experience successfully deploying nuclear technology around the world. Dr. Pryor has been a member of Lightbridge Corporation’s Strategic Advisory Council since 2006.

Dr. Pryor is chairman of Urenco Investments Inc. of the Urenco Group, the largest enricher of uranium in the world, as well as its past president and CEO. He is a member of the Management Committee for Louisiana Energy Services (LES), the Urenco subsidiary licensed to construct and operate the National Enrichment Facility, the first gas centrifuge uranium enrichment plant in the United States. Dr. Pryor has served as board chairman of Westinghouse Electric Co., as well as president and CEO of Westinghouse Energy Systems, where he was responsible for worldwide operations. Dr. Pryor spent twenty-three years with Babcock & Wilcox (B&W), where as an engineer and manager he was involved with the design and manufacture of systems, equipment, components, and fuel for nuclear power plants, later serving as president and CEO of B&W Nuclear Service Company and as board chairman of B&W Nuclear Fuel Company. Dr. Pryor is also past president and CEO of British Nuclear Fuels Ltd. (BNFL) Utilities Business Group. Dr. Pryor began his career as an aerospace engineer with McDonnell Douglas. He serves on the boards of directors of DTE Energy and Progress Energy.

Dr. Pryor received a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, a master’s degree in engineering science and mechanics, and a doctorate in structural engineering from Virginia Tech, as well as an executive MBA from Northeastern University.
