Dr. Tidu Maini has more than three decades’ experience managing technology companies in Europe, Asia, the United States, and the Middle East. Dr. Maini, a prominent scientist based in the Persian Gulf region, has been a member of Lightbridge Corporation’s Strategic Advisory Council since 2006.
Dr. Maini is executive chair of the Qatar Science and Technology Park. He serves as an advisor to the Qatar Foundation and is the scientific advisor to Her Highness Sheikha Mozah Bint Nasser Al Missned of Qatar. Dr. Maini is a member of the Joint Advisory Board of Texas A&M Qatar University and a member of the Microsoft European Roundtable; he also serves on the boards of Tata Africa Ltd., Malomatia Qatar, and Meeza Qatar. Dr. Maini is the former pro rector of Imperial College London (ICL), where he served on the college’s Management Board and several other academic and business committees. During Dr. Maini’s tenure, ICL collaborated with Mubadala, the largest government-owned investment company in the United Arab Emirates, to open a research center in Abu Dhabi. Dr. Maini has advised prominent governments in the commercialization of technology; he is a former board member of the Emirates Foundation of the United Arab Emirates and chair of the London 2012 Olympic Technology Board.
Dr. Maini earned both his B.S. and Ph.D. in engineering from Imperial College. As a post-doctoral fellow at the University of California–Berkeley, Dr. Maini worked on computational physics with eminent physicist Dr. Edward Teller and his team at the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory.
