Victor Chu is founder and chairman of First Eastern Investment Group, a leading Hong Kong-based international private equity firm with offices in Beijing, Shanghai, Dubai, and London. Mr. Chu has been a member of Lightbridge Corporation’s Strategic Advisory Council since 2006.
Mr. Chu is a longtime leading figure in Hong Kong’s investment community and financial establishment. He has served as director and council member of the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, as an advisor to Hong Kong’s Securities and Futures Commission, as a member of the commission’s Takeovers and Mergers Panel, and as a part-time member of the Hong Kong government’s Central Policy Unit. Mr. Chu is a member of the Foundation Board of the World Economic Forum in Geneva, and he co-chairs the forum’s International Business Council. He served as an executive board member of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) and currently chairs the ICC’s Paris-based Commission on Financial Services and Insurance. Mr. Chu, who is also senior partner at Victor Chu & Co., served for five years as the deputy secretary-general of the International Bar Association.
Mr. Chu was educated in Hong Kong and the United Kingdom, and he received his law degree (with honors) from University College London.
