Ernie Kennedy worked with Westinghouse Electric Company and its predecessor companies for thirty-three years.
His most recent position was Vice President for New Plants, where he was in charge of the successful construction and installation of nuclear power plants in numerous foreign countries. Prior to that, he had been Vice President for Engineering, where he directed all design, analysis and safety evaluation for new nuclear power plants and new product development. Earlier in his career, he served as Director for Special Projects, Director for Nuclear Licensing, Assistant Project Manager at the Palo Verde Units 1, 2, and 3 plants, and as a manager for Training and Quality Assurance. Mr. Kennedy began his work in the industry at the Newport News Shipbuilding and Dry Dock Company where he worked on nuclear powered aircraft carriers.
Mr. Kennedy has degrees in Engineering Operations and Economics from North Carolina State University.
