Ernie H. Kennedy

Nuclear Deployment & Program Manager

Ernie Kennedy has successfully led the construction and installation of nuclear power plants around the world and has guided nuclear development projects—on time and on budget—in countries including South Korea, Japan, Taiwan, and the United States. He has been recruited by the United Arab Emirates to guide its growing nuclear energy program. Mr. Kennedy, an engineer by training who has extensive experience in project management, engineering development, and the financial administration of nuclear projects in international markets, has been with Lightbridge Corporation since 2007.

For more than three decades, Mr. Kennedy worked for Westinghouse Electric and its predecessor companies, including as chief reactor engineer. As vice president for engineering, Mr. Kennedy directed all aspects of the design, analysis, and safety evaluation for new nuclear power plants and for the development of new products. While at Westinghouse, Mr. Kennedy played a key role in the deployment of the nuclear reactors at the Palo Verde Nuclear Generating Station, the largest U.S. nuclear power facility. In addition to his track record of success with the commercial deployment of nuclear reactors, Mr. Kennedy also has valuable experience navigating the complex regulatory and licensing processes in both the United States and abroad. A former manager for training and quality assurance at a nuclear plant, Mr. Kennedy began his career working with nuclear-powered aircraft carriers.
