An expert in the international nuclear fuel and energy markets, Tom Retson is president and cofounder of EnergyPath Corporation, a strategic energy consulting firm specializing in the nuclear power industry. A nuclear engineer by training, Mr. Retson brings technological insight as well as business acumen to Lightbridge Corporation, where he has been a member of the Technical Advisory Board since 2006.
Mr. Retson has industry-leading experience in data collection and global analysis, providing clients with essential guidance in strategic planning, project investment analysis, market research, technology assessment, capital investment, and decision support. He has advised many major utilities around the world, as well as the U.S. government. Mr. Retson spent more than two decades working for GE Power Systems and GE Nuclear, where he was head of business planning for nuclear fuels under Jack Welch. Mr. Retson was head of sales, at different points in his career, for markets Europe, Asia, and various regions of the United States; he was also responsible for the oversight of multiyear engineering projects. Mr. Retson has a thorough knowledge of the global and domestic nuclear energy industries and markets; as chief operating officer of Blue Castle Holdings, Mr. Retson leads a team that is working toward the deployment of nuclear reactors in the United States. Mr. Retson is also the president and nuclear director of Transition Power Development LLC.
Mr. Retson earned a bachelor’s degree in nuclear engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
