The Regulatory Development Team’s goal is to facilitate the development, deployment and operation of an effective and efficient independent national regulatory authority. The Lightbridge Regulatory Development Team provides support in developing regulatory policy and strategies, operational regulatory programs, regulations and safety guides and administration. In addition, this specialized team can provide immediate support for assisting organizations with technical due diligence related to reactor designs and their related licensing issues.

Lightbridge Team members have been involved in the full spectrum of design and licensing activities for nuclear power plants. This includes performing design certification reviews and managing technical reviews, project management, construction inspections, and ultimately issuance of the operating license. These individuals are experienced and knowledgeable in all phases of the regulatory and licensing processes, including environmental and safety reviews, resolving detailed licensing issues and developing advanced licensing strategies. Key members of the team have worked for the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and are quite familiar with the IAEA Safety Requirements Series GS-R-3 - The Management System for Facilities and Activities and the entire suite of IAEA Safety Standards. Lightbridge Team’s experienced IAEA staff members and others bring a detailed understanding of IAEA guidance and requirements for nuclear power plant design and licensing issues.
